Corvettes are a whole nother thing though, those cars are very rare when you get into all the trick models they sold. While I agree with your point about originality I just don't see much originality from the SMZ aside from being stamped with a badge and sold new. I guess I am saying it is a pretty half hearted attempt at making a "collector's" 300ZX, and I still do not think these cars will follow the same "value-path" as 60-70's era cars. Those cars are partly so valuable because they quit making cars like that for many many years. You're right though, there could very well be another drastic shift in the way cars are made in the next 20 years, causing values for the new "oldies" to go up. Who knows, right now, like Gordo said, their claim to what makes them "special" isn't enough for the majority to fork outbig bucks for them. I guarantee you if they were sold with a version of the infiniti 4.5L V8, they'd already be worth much more.
